Church weddings are an easy and traditional choice, but they aren’t for everyone. You may not be a churchgoer, or you may just want something different. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

1. A sentimental spot in your hometown.
2. At the home of a beloved family friend. Especially if it’s a nice big house.
3. Under a redwood tree.
4. Way up high, indoors: at the top of the Seattle Space needle, the John Hancock Tower, or tall building of your choice. Rotating restaurants are also cool.
5. Way up high, outdoors: at a ski lodge, on a scenic bridge, or on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
6. Really, really way up high: in a helicopter, a plane, or a hot air balloon.
