Wedding Theme Planning

Deciding on wedding colors, decoration, and location can be made simple by choosing a wedding theme. Themed weddings can be based on colors, locations, feelings, people, eras, things, and anything else one can imagine.

Choosing a theme is easy when a list is made of likes, dislikes, and heritage. This list should be made between the couple getting married, and should not include family and friends likes, dislikes, and heritage.

Once a wedding theme has been decided on a list should be made of all the special vendors or services that would be needed to bring out the theme. For example, a vintage car rental shop could lend a pink Cadillac for transportation in an Elvis themed wedding.

Other than services, items ordered such as food, cards, menus, flowers, attire and decoration can all help bring out a wedding theme.

Be sure to tell all the vendors that are servicing the wedding of the theme, so they can come prepared. Include all details in writing weeks before the wedding. Details should outline the day’s events and any special or non-traditional service, location, and attire.

Be flexible in the decisions made to enhance the wedding theme. Some wedding theme ideas may not be able to be done, due to a service a vendor cannot perform, location does not allow, or a service cannot be rendered.
