Often times when brides and grooms have guests coming in from out of town to attend their wedding ceremony and wedding reception they forget that these non-locals may not know much about the area. In the following paragraphs we’ll show you some of the things you can do to help these out-of-towners with their arrangements and things to do while their in town.
If you have a lot of guests coming in from out of town you can make a list of hotels of a price/quality that most of your guests would enjoy and work out a discounted rate with them. In addition to that you may want to find out the hotels close by that are a bit cheaper and also ones that are a bit nicer. This will give your guests the choice of being in the same hotel as the majority of your other guests at a great price to quality. This also give those that can’t or don’t want to spend that much a cheaper alternative. The guests who prefer to spend more for better quality will also have an option for them. If you have very few guests coming in from out of town you may want to consider having them stay with you or your family members if space permits.
Some of your out of town guests may be in town for more than just the big day. For these guests you can compile a list of things that they could do. Tourist attractions, museums, theme parks, and other activities that could entertain them on days they don’t have your wedding ceremony and reception to attend. Remember, they are there for your big day but you will be too busy getting ready for it to spend any time with them before the event.
You should also compile a list of restaurants that are close to the hotels on your list or to your/family homes if guests will be staying with you. You can also include restaurants that are great in their specialty, like Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc. This will give your out of town guests a good selection of what is close and what is good.
Now you have a list of hotels, restaurants, and attractions for your out of town guests. If you have a wedding website you should include this information on there. If you don’t have one then I would either suggest getting one or printing this information out and mailing it to your out of town guests at least a couple months before your big day.
