Cupcake Vineyards & a DIY Wedding Reception Cocktail
For some weddings where the couple is providing their own alcohol, sometimes it can be hard to figure out how much to spend for the quality of wine you'll be getting. I was recently invited to a wine tasting by wedding planner extraordinaire Alison Hotchkiss (Alison Events) for Cupcake Vineyards, and while I'm not a big drinker, I was pleasantly surprised by the price point, and more importantly, the taste! They have a full series of wines to choose from, reds, whites, sparkling,...

Otaduy is a bridal brand out of Spain (though the idea for it came straight from NYC, hollah!) with simple yet stunning wedding dresses. While some tend more towards a vintage look, I picked out my favs that could definitely be styled for a modern bride...gotta love those gold Doc Martens! How do you like?

Stunning Scenes from Bridal Market
Last weekend was Bridal Market Spring 2013, where we got to see all the new wedding dresses & bridesmaid dresses coming out for next year. Of course it was fabulous, with shows by Reem Acra, Amsale, Oscar de la Renta & Junko Yoshioka, among many others, so I thought it might be fun to share some shots I took while at the shows and behind the scenes backstage. There's a real energy that happens on and off the runway, so its always exciting to be a part of it!

Spring-y Wedding Inspiration
With Easter just over the weekend, it's hard to not be inspired by all the blooms and colors happening right now...I like how this board is colorful and modern, but still a little softer for Spring. How do you like?
Hand Lettering for Your Wedding
Lisa Congdon is a crazy good artist....you may know her from her Collection a Day series? If you dont, you really should! This year she's taking that collection a bit further by doing a daily hand lettering exercise...each day it's something a little different, and really made me think that it could be a great thing to work into your wedding! I'm not saying you need to calligraph every one of your wedding invitation envelopes or anything, but with a little practice, you could...
Personalized Maps for Your Wedding
I'm big on DIY projects, and lately I've been seeing some fun ways to document your travels. I think it would make a great way to remember your honeymoon (if you're a country hopper like we were on ours) or if you just want to remember all the places you and your hunny have traveled while you've been together (something fun to display at your wedding!). These particular projects are pretty easy, but if you feel like being lazy, just go ahead and order the personalized map from...

Custom Initials Leave a Mark on Your Wedding
Etsy is just full of great vendors for your wedding, and many of them aren't even necessarily FOR your wedding, which makes them even MORE interesting in my eyes! Edie's Lab is one of those shops....they create large scale initials that would be great for displaying at your wedding ceremony or reception, and then eventually to show off in your home. I love that they have a variety of fonts and colors to choose from, whether you're a modernist like me, or going for more of a...
MAKE A STATEMENT with Elva Fields
I'm a huge fan of Elva Fields for two reasons....she doesn't shy away from color, and her necklaces are total statement pieces that go with everything....even a wedding dress! It always makes me infinitely happy to see a bride wear something bright and bold because it is such a great contrast to her white wedding dress. They'd also make great bridesmaids gifts, because really, who doesn't love jewelry??

COOLHAUS for Your Wedding Reception
At Wedding Crashers over the past weekend, I discovered that the super cool ice cream truck that is Coolhaus does catering for weddings! With locations in Miami, New York, LA and Austin, these trucks are the ultimate in excellent ice cream sandwich design. For one, the flavors are just crazy....pair red velvet, vegan carrot cake, and chocolate chip (just to name a few) cookies with dirty mint, beer & pretzels and bananas foster ice creams (tons more flavors where those came...
Modern Oscar-Worthy Silhouettes for Brides
So the Oscars were this past Sunday, and of course everyone is glued to the TV to see what actresses are wearing...While some say they played it safe on the red carpet, there were a ton of modern silhouettes that done in white, would be PERFECT for a wedding! Whether it was that giant bow that Emma Stone had draped around her neck, or the delicate layers of Kristen Wiig or Michelle Williams, there was something for everyone. My ultimate modern dress favs were Gwyneth Paltrow and...
Bright Wedding Hair Pieces by Jennifer Behr
Sometimes I get sick of seeing various shades of white, cream, and ivory for bridal veils...because seriously, other than your shoes, the veil is a great place to bring in some color and fun! These wedding hair accessories from Jennifer Behr are just the thing....perfect punches of color or shimmer, depending on your taste. I'd wear them all if I could do it all over again. What do you think?
