Remember that game you used to play in summer camp, sometimes it was called "Telephone" sometimes "Operator." Basically, you sit in a circle and one person whispers something to the person next to her, who whispers it to the next person, and so on, around the circle. When you get to the end, the message sounds completely different.
I think it was supposed to teach a lesson about gossip and how you say one thing, but it gets changed as time goes on.
