Star Wars Themed Groom's Cake, Hitch it or Ditch it?

OK, I've gotten in a little trouble for making fun of Star Wars weddings before, but I just cannot resist providing you with this Star Wars themed groom's cake picture.
The cake was designed for Star Wars artist Chris Trevas by Courtney Clark of Cake Nouveau, of Food Network Challenge and TLC's Ultimate Cake-off.

That's a really awesome grooms cake! Very detailed... maybe a little too detailed. Although I do not know who would go near that thing thinking they're going to eat it.
Personally, that is a major ditch in my book....but then again, i'm not a big star wars fan. Can't deny the detail though!
Ha, I have a feeling I'll be seeing this on Cake Wrecks at some point! Kudos to the artist, really, the detail is elaborate! But it's so not my thing. Actually -- is anyone else here not planning a on a groom's cake?
I remember this scene and also remember how I was grossed out by it. Although the point of a groom's cake to give him something that is non-traditional and tailored to his tastes. If your immediate family members have qualms about something like this, you can always tone is down (with another scene from Star Wars) or have the present the groom's cake during the rehearsal luncheon/dinner.
Wow.. a Star Wars cake is definitely a ditch for me but the whoever made it paid a lot of attention to detail, and it's artfully made... And Christina, my fiance and I are not planning on a grooms cake...
