Bridal Accessory Trend Alert: Chunky Necklaces and Long, Layered Strands

I was reading the September issue of Vogue this morning, and a few accessory trends jumped out at me in a big way. Every designer, from David Yurman (my personal fave!), to Donna Karan, to Oscar de la Renta, to Michael Kors, was showing one of two things...

- chunky necklaces that make a serious statement

- long, delicate necklaces layered one on top of another

I must admit- the Bitter Betty inside of me often rears its ugly head while I thumb through Vogue, since nearly every item in there is way out of my price range! However, if you do enough digging, you can often find comparable pieces that are just as lovely, and don't break the bank.

In J.Crew's Baubles + Bags/Trinkets + Treasures catalog, they really hit the mark with this season's accessory trends. The bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are to die for, and would pair perfectly with a beautiful, simple wedding dress.

If you're wearing a chic strapless or sweetheart wedding dress with a more full skirt, go bold with a chunky necklace (like the one in the top left corner or bottom right corner of photo 2)

And if you are wearing a more whimsical, romantic sheath or column style wedding dress, layer a few of the longer necklaces for a stunning bridal look.
