Men’s fashion is never quite as exciting as women’s. But, when it comes to the red carpet, the actors pull out all the stops. Sometimes it works, sometimes… not so much!
Chase Crawford and Kevin Bacon at the 2010 Golden Globes
At the
2010 Golden Globes, I’d say the men (overall) did pretty well. Stars like
Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Gerard Butler, and George Clooney were dressed to impress with their classic bow ties. I also loved the skinny neck ties worn well by Chace Crawford and Kevin Bacon.
Other stars, like Samuel L. Jackson, Neil Patrick Harris and Cory Monteith (of Glee) went less traditional, but did it well! L. Jackson and Harris donned rich velvet jackets, while Monteith opted for a silver tie, white shirt and black tux.
Now, for all of the good at the 2010 Globes, there were a few actors who dropped the ball. Mickey Rourke has become a staple on the worst dressed list, so his head-to-toe black cowboy getup, complete with snakeskin lapels, didn’t come as a huge shock. And for Harrison Ford and Wes Anderson, they just didn’t seem “red carpet ready”. Come on guys, step it up!
