We get our bridal style
inspiration from today's biggest celebs. But did you ever wonder which past icons inspire those celebs who inspire you?
Here's a look at today's favorite stars who have taken cues on their red carpet
jewelry from iconic platinum weddings throughout history!
Before their 1953 wedding, JFK gifted Jackie Kennedy with a platinum and diamond "engagement bracelet" from Van Cleef & Arpels. Jackie wore the bracelet
on her wedding day. Penelope Cruz wore a similar platinum and diamond bracelet by Chopard to the 2010 Golden Globes.
In 1962, Richard Burton proposed to Elizabeth Taylor with a platinum, emerald and diamond brooch
from Bulgari. This was the only piece of jewelry she wore to their 1964 wedding. Actress Rose Byrne wore a platinum and diamond brooch from Neil Lane in her hair to the 2010 Golden Globes.
In 1956, Prince Rainer III of Monaco proposed to Grace Kelly with a Cartier platinum engagement ring
with a 12-carat emerald cut center stone. In 2008, Beyoncé got engaged to Jay-Z with a Lorraine Schwartz platinum engagement ring. It’s the one piece of jewelry she’ll always wear on the red carpet.
Before their 1954 wedding, Joe DiMaggio gave Marilyn Monroe a
platinum and diamond eternity ring
featuring 35 baguette diamonds. In 2009, Natalie Portman wore a platinum and diamond eternity band from Kwiat to the 2009 Academy Awards.
