A midnight fairytale from yesteryear is how I'd sum up Marchesa's Fall 2011 RTW collection. Juxtaposing dark with ethereal, dramatic volume with paper-thin silhouettes, this collection will take you to a land far, far away.
Many of the trends from NY Fashion Week
shows of Jason Wu
and Monique Lhuillier
made their way down the Marchesa
catwalk. Dresses in black, white and red dominated, romantic lace, feathers and metallic beading adorned, and luxe texture enveloped.
Marchesa's Fall 2011 RTW collection also included lots and lots of tulle
. Black tulle was paired with white lace, nude tulle with red lace
, and illusion fabric was used liberally. Marchesa's dream design duo, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, went above and beyond with embroideries and appliques... and the outcome was divine. Just check out the photos below and then let us know what you think of this collection!
