Chic DIY Wedding Updo for Brides with Long Hair

Posted by Azure on December 7th, 2010
When you have super long, super thick hair, creating a special occasion updo without the help of a pro is nearly impossible. But never fear, abundantly-tressed brides-to-be! You can create a chic chignon for your rehearsal dinner or wedding day, in just five simple steps! This DIY bridal updo by celebrity stylist Ted Gibson is modern, feminine and red carpet worthy! To wrap your luscious locks into a chic chignon... 1. Start with not so fresh hair because natural oil is your friend when it comes to the staying power of an updo. 2. Brush through your entire head of hair, and secure locks with a hair tie at top of the head. 3. Twist and Wrap hair, and continue twisting and wrapping until you can secure the ends of your ponytail under the chignon. 4. Secure chignon by anchoring hair with plenty of bobby pins, and spray to secure. To frame your face, take a small section in front, brush, and spray. 5. Accessorize your bridal updo with fresh flowers (an on-trend hair accessory for 2011) or a dazzling vintage brooch.
