You’ve found it. THE dress. But now comes an even more important question: what are you wearing beneath the dress? Sometimes the answer to this question is as vital as the wedding dress itself. From the slinkiest chiffon slip dress to the most tightly-fitted corsetted gown, your bridal underpinnings can make or break a silhouette. Having worked with countless brides to choose the right wedding-day underwear, I’ve found many women can get side-tracked on a quest for something beautiful, while forgetting that those gorgeous embellished lingerie styles may not be best. That’s why my best piece of advice for brides shopping for their under-gown garments is stick to basics that provide smooth lines and good 'architecture.' 1. Smooth- For brides looking for a good http://www.shop-underwear.com/basic/bras/sculptural-pushup-strapless" rel="follow">strapless bra option, I recommend something nude and smooth. Nude because it won’t show through, and smooth because it will give you the best silhouette. It’s tempting to go for white or ivory, but unless your dress is truly opaque, pale colors like white and ivory can actually show through your gown. And your bra is the last thing you want to call attention to during your wedding! 2. Streamlined- Another common request is a corset. There are some beautiful options out there, but it’s important to remember that a corset may actually add bulk around your midsection and can interfere with the internal structure of the dress. Since your goal is to look fabulous, any extra bulk is something you definitely want to avoid. 3. Shapely- For your bottom, consider the shape of the dress. Do you need a completely seamless look? Why not try Spanx? Ever-advancing, Spanx shapewear now comes in tons of different options and will guarantee the absolute smoothest silhouette, even under form-fitting styles. If shapewear isn’t your thing, look for other seamless options like laser-cut bottoms in stretchy microfiber. 4. Style- For dresses with fuller skirts, you’ve got more leeway for what you can wear on the bottom. Take advantage! Why not make your bridal panties your 'something blue'? Or scoop up a pair embellished with a cute saying like 'I do' or 'Blushing Bride' to commemorate the special day. Psst...Guess what?? We've got a pop up giveaway just for you!
