The Greenest Wedding Around: Couple Collects 400,000 Recyclable Cans To Fund July Nuptials

On a scale from 1 to 10, how green are you?? And to what lengths would you go to make your wedding happen?

A couple from Spokane, Washington set a July 31, 2010 wedding date, and because of their non-existent wedding budget, they got creative in an eco-friendly way. They didn't auction off their nuptials on E Bay, or hit up a big brand like Dr. Pepper to sponsor their wedding... Instead, they took to the streets and started collecting cans! Recyclable aluminum cans that is. 400,000 of them! Peter Geyer and Andrea Parrish decided on a modest wedding budget of $3,800, and calculated that 400,000 recycled cans would get the job done. With a little help from Alcoa and United Recycling Services (donating 150,000 cans and 73,000 cans, respectively), this eco-friendly couple has reached their goal! But they won't stop there! They'll continue collecting cans to fund their honeymoon! Do you think their July 31st wedding will have a recycled, green theme or vibe? I've got to say, I'm looking forward to seeing those wedding photos!
