I’ve already shared tips on pulling off an out-of-this-world
Luau-themed rehearsal dinner. Now it’s time to reveal the
secrets to creating an enchanted garden vibe at your wedding reception!
For the Party City/Samantha Goldberg destination
wedding reception, guests were asked to wear all white. At first, this seemed a bit conterintuitive to me… wouldn’t the bride want to be the only one wearing white? But once I saw all of the guests together, the men dressed in their finest white linen pants, the ladies in white hot cocktail
dresses, I was sold. And the “
all white” theme is even more perfect for a
destination wedding, since you and your guests will (hopefully) have a golden tan by the time you’re walking down the aisle!
The banquet room for the reception at the
Wyndham Nassau Resort was transformed into an enchanted garden. Soft green lights lit the entire room, the sweet smell of gardenias tickled the senses, and gorgeous high topiaries (the focal point on each table) featured manzanita branches hung with sparkling crystals. A live guitarist who worked the room, stopping at each table to take song requests, brought a relaxed, intimate mood to the room. This type of entertainment is perfect for your cocktail hour while guests are mixing and mingling.
Believe it or not everything at this fab reception, except for the guitarist (obviously) and fresh
flowers, was from
Party City! So get excited, because you can recreate this look (or a similar one) for your wedding reception, all on your own and on the cheap! And there are even
eco-friendly Party City elements tied into the reception décor. Below are a few of my favorite items and ideas that made the enchanted garden wedding tablescapes look like a million bucks!
1. The Perfect Pattern… for an enchanted garden reception. The
Leaf Green Ornamental Scroll design that adorned the napkins and plates was crisp and super chic.
2. Unique and Green… The
Eco Bamboo Ring Bearer Pillow and
Eco-Occasions Natural Paper Guest Book brought a hint of texture and earthy, organic style to the reception.
3. A little goes a long way… if you choose a sky high topiary
centerpiece like Party City did, the rest of your reception décor should be very minimal. A great
DIY, budget-friendly touch that will compliment your gorgeous floral centerpiece (without stealing the show) is a simple square tray adorned with votive candles and scattered faux diamonds. The tray can be silver, glass, eco-friendly bamboo... or any material your heart desires!
