The Kate Effect: Get Ready to do a Double Take at this Gown

OneWed is dedicated to helping brides look and feel their best through the entire journey to wed; from the excitement of YES! to the celebration after the I Do's. And everyone knows that hair & makeup and dress & accessories can make or break any girl's swagger.

To ensure you look drop dead gorgeous and feel your bridal best, I'm on constant lookout for the latest fashion and beauty styles and trends that I can share with you here on the Savvy Scoop. I pore over fashion and bridal mags, check out every new collection that walks the runway, and keep a close eye on tweets and Facebook posts from the likes of Vera Wang, Pronovias, Marchesa, Bobbi Brown and more.

But one trend that's undeniable is the royal wedding effect. Simple is replacing statement for bridal bouquets, wedding hats and fascinators are all the rage, and sleeved wedding dresses are once again chic. And speaking of sleeved gowns, check out what Evan Rachel Wood wore down the 2011 Venice Film Festival red carpet...

I don't know about you, but I'm having serious royal wedding flashbacks! Clearly, Wood's dress (designed by Alessandra Rich) is much more casual than Kate's Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen stunner. Plus, it features a sultry slit and low-key pockets, cuffs and collar. But I can't help but think, this is a dressed down version of The Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding dress!

What do you think? Does this red carpet gown remind you of Kate's trend-setting number? Post a comment to share your thoughts!
