Featured Virginia Wedding: Christy and Matt

When Matt popped the question in Florida, and Christy accepted, she signed herself up for the daunting task of planning a wedding 13 hours away! Despite a tight wedding budget, Christy was determined not to sacrifice style for her wedding! To create the wedding of her dreams without breaking the bank, Christy rallied the troops (her mom and closest friends) to help with the planning, and it was smooth sailing from that point forward!

A dream wedding dress power from above must have been watching over Christy when she went on the hunt for THE dress- she bought her dramatic ball gown wedding dress straight off the rack because it fit perfectly! For the wedding event planning and decor, bridal hair & makeup, beautiful fondant wedding cake, and eye-catching hot pink candy table, family and friends lent a helping hand, and put their DIY talents to work! Together, they created a loving and fun atmosphere centered around Matt and Christy's fuchsia, with touches of gold and black, wedding color palette.

Christy and Matt are both musicians at heart, and wanted their love for music and each other to shine throughout the wedding ceremony and reception. At their church ceremony, one of the groomsmen performed, followed by a beautiful duet from Christy’s sisters (who were bridesmaids in the wedding). For the final event, the couple chose the newly renovated Omni Hotel in Newport News, VA to host a fabulous reception that included a song they sang to each other. Afterwards, Matt surprised his new Bride with a number he composed just for their wedding day! What a perfect wedding gift!
