About
The Man Registry
Congrats, it’s official. You’ve been asked to be a groomsman. Now what? If you’re not sure what’s expected of you other than showing up in a tux on the wedding day, read on.
Prior to the wedding
As a groomsman, your pre-wedding duties will most likely include attending any
engagement parties and couples showers, helping the best man
plan the bachelor party, picking up your tux or suit a day or so before the wedding day, attending the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and receiving detailed instructions for the wedding day.
The wedding day
On the big day, groomsmen will be tasked with arriving on time at the location for dressing or the ceremony, keeping the groom entertained and calm before the ceremony, posing for a plethora of photos, possibly ushering guests to their seats as they arrive before the ceremony, escorting a bridesmaid down the aisle during the ceremony, dancing at the reception and potentially helping the bride’s family clean up after the festivities are finished.
Not so tough, right? You got this. Enjoy it.
