Rock ‘n Roll Bride: Traditional meets Rock ‘N Roll Wedding

About Rock 'n Roll Bride

Happy Monday people...I hope I can cure some Monday blues with today’s super cool Rock n Roll wedding! As many of you will know, I am all about the promotion of being yourself when it comes to your wedding. There does sometimes appear to be two camps when it comes to such things, firstly the uber traditional (usually) spend lots of money types, and secondly the totally out-there wacky ‘we won’t follow the system’ crazy crazy wedding types. To me neither is right and neither is wrong. To me a wedding is the beginning of a marriage and therefore should be a reflection of the couple…but I’m sure you already know that (and hopefully agree!)

For today’s post I have purposely chosen a wedding that is not the craziest, most outlandish I could find. I wanted to share with you a beautiful wedding that proves you can have the best of both worlds. This couple have clearly opted for many traditional elements –the white dress from David's Bridal, the traditional (esque) cake (made by the venue) and the beautiful setting at Lake of Isles Country Club. However, when you look at these images you can tell that the couple didn’t go all out traditional. For starters the Bride’s uncompromised style and Grace Kelly-like look (plus tattoo!) seriously kick arse (or should that be ass?!) and for seconds, the couple’s first dance was to Rainy Night in Soho by The Pogues– now that’s defiantly not a traditional first dance song!

So there we have it. Don’t feel like a terrible bride for being too ‘offbeat’ but similarly don’t be riddled with guilt if you feel you’ve followed the trends…just be yourself and be happy about it!

For more wonderful weddingness, why not head right over to the home of all things wedding?!

Catch you next week…

Rock ‘n Roll Bride promotes individuality and general awesomeness in a cookie cutter, pastel pink, poufy dressed wedding world. Don’t let the wedding industry define your day – let *you* define your day.
