Carmen and Shawn were married on Dec 31, 2009, and are an energetic, active couple who truly love having fun together. And they were really enthusiastic about their photos! In fact, the entire wedding party
was willing to risk becoming permanent ice cubes just to get a couple of nice shots with the fresh snow - and it was a cold one, even by Canadian standards (around -9F or -23C)! The ladies ditched their bridal heels
for Uggs, and between shots, we all warmed up in our vehicles, taking photos in short bursts.
After our snowy adventure, we also stopped in at the Kingsway Aviation Museum
for some photos - I love taking wedding photos there, it's a fun space, and a bit retro, quirky and untraditional.
The ceremony took place at the historic St. Albert Catholic Parish
(the oldest surviving building in the province of Alberta), and their reception was at the Edmonton Petroleum Club
Also, the couple met on a ski trip organized by mutual friends, and their guest tables were organized with the names of different ski runs they both enjoyed. I thought that was an adorable way to personalize things!
