Lina and Jared are in love. Plain and simple. You can see it in the way they talk about each other and in their eyes. I feel so lucky to shoot couples like this! We started at Lina's home in Anaheim, CA. Talk about your buzz of activity! Between makeup and hair, bridesmaids zipping around, and family members showing up (with more and more food!}, that house was filled to the brim with laughter and love.
In the Greek tradition, Lina broke bread over her head before leaving her childhood home. One half stays with her father; the other is then wrapped in the bride's handkerchief& is taken to her new home. She then crossed herself 3 times; and rice was thrown at her feet as she crossed the threshold.
The ceremony was at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Anaheim, then off to Santiago Mansion in Orange for the wedding reception. Lina and Jared's wedding was only the third one so far at this stunning location. The view was breathtaking! I just had to get them out on the hillside for a few romantic shots of the two of them.
The setting was casual with all the reception tables set up poolside; and the slate-covered mansion as the backdrop. I love the way Lina's purple flowers were the perfect foil to the green hills and turquoise water. All of her flowers were provided by Tustin Florist.
The evening ended with some traditional Greek dancing. "Opa!"
