New Technology for Wedding Videography

Ben McElroy of McElroy Films (one of our fabulous OneWed wedding pros) recently wrote to tell us about a new trend in wedding videography. McElroy Films uses state of the art Canon EOS 7D cameras to shoot weddings. These cameras boast some fantastic features, including the ability to shoot with real photography lenses, High Definition Video, Low Light capabilities and much more. In the past traditional wedding videographers used Standard Definition cameras or Low-end HD gear. Most cameras have fixed lenses which makes the images flat and they normally shoot in frame rates similar to home videos.

With the new High Definition DSLRs video cameras, your wedding videographer can shoot video through a still camera, which is a new trend that is steadily taking off. Now a videography has the ability to use Pro Photography gear to shoot wedding videos. That gives your video a cinematic quality that are unlike traditional wedding videos

The one drawback, you can expect to pay around 30-40% more for this new technology.

To see why it costs more, check out the video above.

What do you think? Will you be seeing if your videographer has this new technology?
