Betsy and Blake tied the knot on September 5, 2010 in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. Betsy and Blake are bright, affectionate, and supremely gracious people, those feel good people who draw you in, and I think this definitely came through in their wedding photos!
Blake and Betsy knew they wanted a simple wedding, nothing too over-the-top or flashy. So that they could keep their wedding decor to a minimum, they chose ceremony and reception venues
that were beautiful in their own right. The wedding ceremony
took place at the Saints Center
, an old church with a rich history. The church burned down in the 90s, but was recently restored, and now holds up to 600 people! The architecture of the Saints Center is just incredible!
They chose the Temple for Performing Arts
in downtown Des Moines for their wedding reception
venue, and the vibe was perfect... ornate, regal, with a vintage flair. Reception table centerpieces
featured candlelit lanterns surrounded by antique-hued hydrangeas. Betsy designed and created all of the wedding invitations
herself, incorporating a sweet two lovebird logo. To further personalize
their nuptials, each reception table was named after a particular sport, since the happy couple loves being active. So that wedding guests
could let their hair down at the reception, Betsy and Blake rented a photobooth and fun costumes and props for guests to pose with.
