Below are 10 quick tips on choosing the right cake for your wedding from the one and only Sylvia Weinstock:

1. Incorporate favorite foods into the wedding cake and choose a style appropriate for the season of your I Do’s. 2. Add cultural flair by integrating the bride’s ethnic background into the design of the cake. 3. Order cake at least one month before your wedding. 4. Don’t use fresh flowers (often sprayed with pesticides) on your wedding cake. Choose sugar flowers instead. 5. Bring photos (like the ones below!) of cakes you like to help direct your cake designer. 6. Draw cake inspiration from your wedding dress to decide the texture of the icing and use your bridal bouquet to inspire the overall look. 7. There should be a lush mix of details that complement each other when it comes to the design of the wedding cake. 8.
