Catering Tip: No One Remembers What They Ordered

Have you ever gotten to a wedding reception and forgotten which meal you requested?
This nautical themed escort card contributes to the theme and lets people know where to sit.

It’s not that anyone is going to go check your RSVP card and refuse to serve you, but you don’t want to be the jerk who takes the last fish meal out of the mouth of someone who doesn’t eat chicken or meat.

I saw something so simple and brilliant this weekend I was surprised I hadn’t seen it before.

On the inside of the very cute escort card, there were two little stickers reminding my friend and me which meal we had ordered. Believe it or not, no one at our table, including a judge who has performed several weddings, had ever seen this before and we were all strangely overjoyed by it (which may also have to do with the signature rum cocktail served before dinner).

By the way, the flag on the escort card, it isn’t a French flag, it’s a nautical symbol for the number 3, the reception was held on a boat.

The inside of the escort card reminds people of what they ordered.
