A few weeks ago the very nice people at Quady Winery
in California asked us if we'd like some samples of their dessert wines. We said, "Oh, we couldn't possibly." Then we stopped laughing and said "Samples of wine AND an excuse to eat dessert, bring it on!"
One of the reasons Quady thought to send us these wines was because of how well they tie in with some of the top wedding trends
this year including personalizing your wedding, rustic chic weddings, really taking advantage of your cocktail hour to mix and mingle, and of course, food you want to eat!
These wines have a low-alcohol content (so you can keep the party going), and their sweet flavor makes them perfect for creating your own original cocktail or mixing into a more traditional cocktail.
So far, we've tried Elysium, a deep-red wine made with Muscat grapes, and Electra, a lighter, bubbly wine perfect for making a Mimosa.
If, like a lot of brides, you're thinking about ditching the traditional wedding cake in favor of other desserts, check out Quady's dessert pairing suggestions on their website.
What do you think? Will you be serving a sweeter wine at your wedding?
