Today is Cinco De Mayo, a celebration of Mexican independence and a generally good reason to have a party!

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate your Mexican heritage with your wedding, consider the Lasso ceremony (also known as the lazo, cord or rope ceremony). This ceremony is popular in both Mexican and Filipino ceremonies.

During the wedding ceremony a cord, representing the rosary, is placed in a figure eight around the couple. It’s a beautiful and meaningful ceremony.
