I feel like Mendel's aesthetic suits the princess-to-be perfectly. When Kate attends formal functions, her style is distinct. Middleton's go-to neckline? Deep v-neck and halter styles. Her favorite silhouette? Modified a-line with featherlight skirts that float away from the body. Signature dress detail? A flattering wrap accent below the bust. For these reasons, I chose J. Mendel's sketch as the most likely to resemble the real thing when Kate walks down the aisle to meet her prince.
To satisfy my J. Mendel craving, I had to drool over his gorgeous gowns. The dresses featured here are from the Spring 2011 RTW collection, but they provide serious eye candy and inspiration for brides-to-be. If you plan on switching it up for your wedding reception with a little white dress, I adore the silhouettes and styles of Mendel's short cocktail frocks. And how fab are the accessories? I can totally picture a stylish bride rocking those hot orange heels! And the waist-cinching bridal belts and luxe fur boleros... to-die-for!!
Which look inspires you most? Do you think J. Mendel's designs suit bride-to-be Kate Middleton?
