While we couldn’t make it to NYC for April 2010 Bridal Market, we are keeping a close eye on the newest bridal collections.
I'm totally into Douglas Hannant's Spring 2011 collection
. What I love about this bridal line?
You can't put it into a box and wrap it up with a pretty bow... it doesn't scream one specific style (it's not "romantic
", or "modern
", or "classic
"). Each wedding dress that graced the catwalk was so different than the last, with its own unique style and personality.
Now, that's not to say that Douglas Hannant
's 2011 collection was lacking cohesiveness. As unique as each piece was, there was an Ethereal vibe
that pulled the entire collection together. Instead of following the trends and incorporating hints of black
, Hannant instead chose to incorporate touches of blue. His boldest creation featured a mermaid silhouette
, strapless neckline, and a gorgeous scattering of navy and arctic blue floral bunches. This stunner was followed by two more wedding dresses that featured more subdued azure accents.
My absolute favorite from Hannant's 2011 collection is, hands down, the sleek Old Hollywood-esque muted champagne number. The fabric is so sumptuous, the cowl neck is totally unexpected, and the curve-hugging silhouette is va, va, va, voom! If you want to feel like a bona fide femme fatale on your wedding day, this is the wedding dress for you!
