After months and months of speculation, The Huffington Post has reported that Sophie Cranston
, founder of Libelula
, will design Kate Middleton's royal wedding dress!
Apparently, the Huff Post's Royal Correspondent
Yvonne Yorke has kept this information a secret for four months. Cranston is an up-and-coming, young designer with a romantic
and bohemian aesthetic
. Her signature vibrant prints and impeccably cut, timeless, flattering silhouettes have garnered Cranston fans from around the globe. This won't be Kate's first time wearing a design by Cranston; she donned a vintage-inspired, Libélula black velvet dress coat (the Dulwich) with a diamante clasp to a friend's wedding in Yorkshire.
Now, we won't know for sure that Sophie Cranston is
the royal wedding dress
designer until Friday, April 29th. But some of our favorite designers (like Reem Acra
, Vera Wang
, Badgley Mischka
, Nicole Miller
) took a stab at sketching their vision of what Kate's royal wedding dress will look like.
I thought it'd be fun to poll Savvy Scoop readers to see what silhouette, neckline, embellishments and overall style are most popular for Kate Middleton's big day. I'm going to put my vote out there... I think J.Mendel
's v-neck mermaid (#4) is spot on! For my runners-up, I'd put my money on Nicole Miller (#7) or Rachel Roy (#9).
Take a peek at the designer sketches, then cast your vote
for the sketch you think most closely resembles what Kate will wear down the royal white aisle.
