Xochitl is an Accredited Bridal Consultant™ with the Association of Bridal Consultants, one of only 40 in the world. In 2003, Xochitl co-founded Always A Bridesmaid with fellow Brown alumna Mayra Castillo, together they have grown their consultancy into one of New York City’s most sought after wedding planning firms.
In addition to being a featured planner on the Style Networks’“Whose Wedding is it Anyway?”, Xochitl has also been named one of New York Magazine’s best planners and is a regularly tapped expert in New York’s Weddings issue as well as Martha Stewart Weddings, Bride’s, The Village Voice, Manhattan Bride and Reuters. Having studied floral design at the New York Botanical Gardens, her wedding event design work has been published by Bride’s New York, By Recommendation Only and the national edition of The Knot magazine, just to name a few. Her popularity in the industry resulted in a steady stream of calls from brides of all backgrounds and regions seeking advice and tips. In December 2006, Xochitl created Always a Blogsmaid, a wedding blog that takes questions from readers about wedding planning dilemmas. When she is not busy posting on her own, Xochitl is also a featured writer for Real Simple magazine’s acclaimed blog, Simply Stated.
