Debt stops at the altar

I read an article the other day regarding how getting married can affect your taxes. As you are preparing for marriage, understand that money has many roles in your individual life and as a bride-to-be.

When you read the article, make sure you do your homework. What I do not want to happen is that you read this article and say, “Oh, we are going to be penalized because of our getting married, so we will not get married.” First and foremost, the foundation of your getting married should be because of love, not money. In any situation it is important that you exercise wisdom.

The role of money in marriage is varied. Look at this below and see what you thought about its role in your life:
Husband and Wife ↑

Puts Gas in the Car → Go to Work and Earn Income ↑

Buys Groceries→ Eat out at Restaurants ↑

Percentage goes into Savings ↑

Pays the Bills – Mortgage or Apartment, Student Loans, Car Loans, Car Payments ↑

Role of Money

Yes, I left out taxes because that will be something that you should add along with other roles and variables of money. From this chart, you can see that the role of money in our lives is ongoing.
