Marriage Prep: The Benefits of Pre-Marital Counseling

Posted by Azure on February 1st, 2010
Happy Monday and Happy February.

One of the best pieces of wedding advice I’ve ever read is to remember to plan for the marriage, not just the wedding.
This happy couple must have had good relationship counseling.

That’s why we’ve started a new section of our advice column called “marriage prep.” The beginning of every month we’ll add a new article related to preparing for your marriage, not just your wedding. Sometimes it might be relationship advice, sometimes financial, who knows. The idea is to get you thinking just a little beyond the big day.

This month, we’re lucky to have an article by Sharon Rivkin, author of Breaking the Argument Cycle: How to Stop Fighting Without Therapy

She advises couples to look into pre-marital counseling, and in this article, she explains why.
