Wedding Guest Types and Proper Salutations
Married Couple: Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
Married Couple with kids (under 18) living at home: Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and family
Married Couple, wife kept maiden name: Ms. Jane Becker and Mr. John Doe
Married Couple, doctor husband: Doctor and Mrs. John Doe
Married Couple, doctor wife: Doctor Jane Becker and Mr. John Doe
Married Couple, both are doctors: Doctor Jane Becker and Doctor John Doe
Single Woman: Ms. Jane Becker Doe or Miss Jane Becker Doe
Single Man: Mr. John Doe
Unmarried Couple, living together: Miss Jane Becker and Mr. John Doe
Divorced Woman, uses married name: Ms. Jane Becker Doe or
Mrs. Jane Becker Doe
Divorced Woman, uses maiden name: Ms. Jane Becker
Widow: Mrs. John Doe
Guests: add 'and guest' to the wedding invite envelope if a guest is invited.
