Kate Middleton did it first, and even folks who stayed far, far away from the royal wedding buzz couldn't escape talk about Pippa, her bum, and that creamy, dreamy cowl neck bridesmaid dress. Kim Kardashian was next, putting her 'maids in white Vera Wang gowns. But we all know how that one ended...
More and more, brides are choosing light-hued dresses for their bridal parties, bucking tradition and breaking the "only the bride wears white" rule. And here at OneWed, we love brides...

In a few short years, the bridesmaid dress industry has been turned on its head. Just five years ago, shopping for bridesmaids' dresses was a daunting task; limited options, huge markups, and dresses that were... to be frank... hideous (for the most part). This was all fine and dandy for brides who feared their b-maids would steal the show, as choosing a blah bridesmaid gown that fit like a potato sack would secure the bride's spotlight for the day. But all this would change in...

And no, I don’t mean like a baseball uniform or a military uniform, I mean the exact same uniform look for each bridesmaid. Are they told to wear the same dress, the same accessories, the same hairstyle? Or do you give them a little leeway in the individuality department? Remember ladies, your bridesmaids are your best friends (or are supposed to be). Don’t make them look bad or take away any chance they have of looking a bit like themselves at your wedding.
1. Same...

Being a bridesmaid is serious business – it requires a lot of time, love, and patience, not to mention a sizeable chunk of moolah. While bridesmaids' gifts aren’t carefully itemized on everyone’s wedding budget checklist, in this Broke-Ass’ opinion, they most certainly should be! Reward your girls with something other than a tiny bouquet. Whether you choose to splurge or save is entirely up to you – but just know that dollar amount is not directly...

There's nothing worse than a bridesmaid scorned...
Wondering how to keep your bridal party happy, smiling and going the extra mile? Well it's fairly simple if you avoid the five missteps below:
1. Budget-breaking attire: How much would you be willing to spend on a so-so dress you'll probably only wear once? Think very hard about this before selecting the bridesmaids' dresses, unless of course you're footing the bill.
2. Extreme makeovers: There once was...

But they're.. so... chic!
It's hard to believe that these adorable frocks were created just for your bridesmaids. When I first saw them at the Lazaro Fall 2012 runway show, I was instantly smitten. At least three of the styles I wanted for myself, and not to wear to an upcoming wedding... I wanted them for elegant nights out on the town.
The LBDs were out of this world, embellished with romantic lace, girly ruffles and luxurious texturing. And the non-black bridesmaids' dresses...
