DIY Wedding in Santa Fe: Traditional Meets Offbeat

Posted by Azure on September 26th, 2013

Ashley and Christopher tied the knot at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was the perfect ceremony venue for the super creative couple, mixing Hispanic adobe culture with traditional iconic orthodox symbolism and art.

While the heartwarming ceremony was the epitome of traditional, the couple's reception (at Aldea de Santa Fe) was quite the opposite! Two tiny robots (handmade and hand-painted by the groom) topped off the wedding cake, and paper cranes DIY'd by the bride adorned the outdoor reception tables.

Other DIY details included the bride's bouquet and centerpieces, hand-drawn wedding invites featuring robots and cherry blossoms, and the three-tier cake and surrounding mini sweets.

All in all, it was an unforgettable day that proves you don't need a major budget to plan the wedding of your dreams!
