Are Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds' antics in The Proposal encouraging people to consider wedding planning under false pretenses?

In the movie, Bullock plays a Canadian who needs a Green Card - and Reynolds is young American assistant she proposes to in order to stay in the country.

The premise of the movie inspired Date.com, Matchmaker.com and Amor.com to find out whether real-life American men and women would be willing to tie the knot for a similar reason.

According to the findings, nearly 61 percent of American women and 59 percent of men would agree to a fake marriage so that a foreigner could legally stay in the country.

More than 22 percent of women said they would do so as a favor for an ex-boyfriend, while 20 percent would help out their best friend's relative.

Meanwhile, more than 16 percent admitted they would have a sham marriage for the right price, 10 percent would lend their boss a hand and 1 percent would marry a gay friend's lover for visa purposes.

Maybe all these willing women are just imagining a groom that looks like Ryan Reynolds?
