Andy's A Sly One
by jamiearnold

We were going away for the weekend for Andy's birthday. In the three years we have been together he has always talked about this place in his hometown called "the altar." While driving over the mountain he casually asked if I wanted to stop by there since we had some extra time and it was a beautiful day. I said sure and we turned onto an off-road dirt path (which reminded me of the movie "Wrong Turn"). I definately thought the mountain people were going to eat us!
When we got to the top of the moutain we saw another couple was at the altar taking pictures. Andy said, "of course there had to be another couple here." (I should have picked up on his plan then.) I told him it was a free country and not to get so up tight about people being there weirdo! The view was truly breathtaking the altar was such an amazing structure to be on the top of mountain. We're standing there looking over the valley and Andy grabs my shoulders and turns me to face him. He said, "Jame" and I said "Yes" and he paused (tearing up a bit) then he said, "I had so much to say, but now I can't think of it," and I laughed realizing this was either "it" or we were just having a very intense I love you moment, haha. Then he said, "All I know is that I love you more then anything in the world." And he got on his knee and asked if I would marry him. I WAS SHOCKED! I have never been that surprised in my life. I said, "of course I will," and we began to hug.
Now for those of you who really know us, you know the ring part was a complete shocker! My grandmother actually gave him her mother's (my great grandmothers) ring to give to me. It is more amazing then anything else I could wear on my finger. Good thing I had my camera because I got basically the whole thing "play by play" photographed!
