The Proposal
by bsmercer

Bride's Proposal Story
On Easter Sunday, I was playing with all of Doug's cousins, when the rest of the family started gathering in the room where I was located. Before too long, Doug told me that one of his Aunt's wanted to see my promise ring, so he took it off my finger. I thought this was quite unusual because he usually grabs my hand and shows it off with it still on my finger. I thought, "What is going on?" As Doug saw that I was questioning him, he got down on one knee. Before he could ask the question, I knew what he was doing and began to cry in front of his family. He then proceeded to ask me to marry him, and after wiping a few tears, I of course said, "Yes!"
Groom's Proposal Story
It was the 11th of April. I contacted the woman whom I bought my Promise Ring from, and whom I loved working with. I finally contacted her, and found out that she had moved to Muncie, Indiana. I called my Best Friend, and Best Man, Jason, asking him if he could meet up with me and go to Muncie to look at engagement rings. They happened to have a custom ring show, and they happened to have a custom ring jeweler in store for that day only.. what are the chances?! I got the PERFECT ring and made my way home. The next day, Easter Sunday, I showed my Grandpa the ring, and told him that I planned on proposing at some point soon. He suggested that it would be a great experience for everyone to see the proposal, and with that, I started setting things in motion. I got everyone coordinated, and with the help of several family members, I had the set up complete. I asked Brittany if I could have her Promise Ring to show my Aunt, and immediately she got curious. I then turned around, pulled the ring out of my pocket, and knelt to one knee and asked her to marry me. She was so stunned that she balled and ran into the bathroom with her ring on her finger. She said she couldn't see the ring for several minutes because her eyes were so blurred.
