- What did you get and how did you like it? Wow, I read that review and am shocked. My experience as well as my sister's and her best friends was wonderful with K-T Cakes. Karla was easy to work with and had lots of ideas not to mention she went above and beyond our expectations with everything we asked of her and her own generosity. Karla's cakes are delicious and we use her now for all our cakes. Ask for the Vanilla and raspberry combo..to die for. I can only imagine that any Bride that would have had difficulty with Karla would need to be on the bridezilla show, lol. Well, at least thats my opinion. She really is wonderful to work with and I'm surprised anyone would have had an issue...not to mention, her prices are fantastic..

- What did you get and how did you like it? When my husband and I tried the cake it was ok. It did not stand out from others in any way, good or bad. At the time that seemed like enough so we decided to go with KT Cakes, however, that quickly changed. When we went to the initial meeting I forgot to bring the picture of my dream cake. So when we got the sketch of our wedding-cake-to-be it wasn't exactly what we talked about. I contacted the owner, Karla Buis, and tried to remedy the problem. After a few technological difficulities we were finally on the same page but I wanted to have tangible proof that the design was what I wanted. I requested a new drawing to put in my folder with the contract. I waited for months to recieve it and it never came. I was told that the problem was fixed and not to worry about it. I was told that I was becoming controlling. I was even told that everything would be fine "even if everyone doesn't oooh and ahh the way you dreamed they would at the 'kiss.'" Needless to say I felt like I was being treated unprofessionally. I tried to mend this relationship using professional courtesy and tact but there was no way to repair it. How do you when dealing with someone who claims in one email that they would tradionally charge you for additional services but will make an exception this time and in the next email they say "I have never charged someone extra for a change even if it is time consuming, I will, though, be charging you for the new drawing and extra work. An additional $50.00 for the work and I ask for the payment in full as soon as possible." I am sure that the owner of KT Cakes felt that this was an appropriate response but we did not. We chose to go with a different business. I warn other brides to be cautious when dealing with this business.
