We were referred to Enchanted Island Catering by Tradesource, a barter company that we belong to for our own business. Enchanted Island claims that they cater weddings & events, however from our experience with them catering our backyard wedding, we wouldn't recommend them at all, to anyone, EVER. Not only did they short us food - we ordered 30 extra portions of Prime Rib and Salmon, plus sides to be left for our reception guests to eat as mini sandwiches and salmon on crackers,etc. If there was any food left after the dinner service - then they took it with them. I didn't see any extra food left though! Also, almost all of the food was extremely bland and underseasoned, the scalloped potatoes were watery and soupy, they OVERCOOKED the Prime Rib and didn't serve ANY Au Jus with it, nor did they serve the bay shrimp creme sauce with the salmon that we had paid for as well. We were charged close to $4,000 for them to cater our wedding in our backyard for our 60 guests plus we ordered 30 extra full plates and extra crackers and rolls for our reception guests and they LEFT NOTHING BUT PLAIN ROLLS ON OUR OWN BROILER PANS! HOW TACKY!! We had paid them to leave their chafing dishes and platters for this extra service! We have all professional appliances in our kitchen, therefore they requested to cook in our kitchen the day of the wedding and they were contracted to clean the kitchen up back to it's original cleanliness after they were finished. They left the kitchen an absolute pigsty AND they scratched the stainless steel part of our Viking cooktop! The chefs were also rude to our guests! I could go on and on about how TERRIBLE this so-called catering company is! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DEFINITELY GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR CATERING NEEDS! I am copying and pasting our guests comments about their food and I will post pictures as well.
We posed a question to our guests about the caterers and food at our wedding. Here are their responses:
-The guy serving the prime rib was very rude to people that was my only complaint. He would ask people in a very mean tone, "What did you order?!". Well, I know I ordered prime rib that's why I have my plate extended out to you. Other than that I was satisfied.
-Lisa did notice there was not hardly any food for the second group of people like the "Week's".
-We arrived about 8:15 for the reception. They were taking down the food trays. Thankfully we were there for the awkward dancing (and a couple delightful draft beers). I did notice they put out a tray of what looked like a pile of bread rolls after they removed the food trays.
-I personally thought the food was really bland and had zero flavor the shrimp were good but my prime rib was cooked medium well which is overcooked for prime rib and the potatoes were tasteless, just my opinion.
-Agree with Ryan.
-We got there around 8:00 as well and thought we missed out because they seemed to be shutting down. What we did get was very bland. Oh, we also had to hunt down a plate to even put food on. (*NOTE FROM SHANNON - CLEAR APPETIZER PLATES WERE TO BE PROVIDED BY THE CATERING COMPANY!)
- We arrived around 8pm and saw the cake pops, and a few crème brulee out. Later there was a plate of a few salmon and a tiny serving of prime rib, but it wasn't cut up and there wasn't any sauce.
- The appetizers were gone quickly. The serving staff seemed untrained. There was no au jus for the prime rib, and I did notice that the server never apologized for any delay. Darren said the plates were missing for dessert/rolls, and hard to hunt down. He feels that you received at best $2500 in food and service. The prime rib was alright but was overcooked.
- Prime rib was, potentially, not thawed completely or was over cooked, no Au Jus available.
- I found the stuffed prawns flavorless, very bland. There were no crackers when I went through the line only a small chunk of cheese just a few berries and I did notice all the seafood was gone when you went through the line. frown emoticon For dinner I had the prime rib and it was over cooked for my liking and had little flavor so I used a lot of horseradish (I did like that). Rolly got the last meatball, I had none, potatoes had zero flavor and were soupy. The person serving me didn't seem to be interested in conversation, the chef was rude.
BOTTOM LINE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY CATERING! YOU WILL BE LIED TO, RIPPED OFF AND HAVE TERRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!
