Visions Catering provided catering services for my sister's wedding on Oct. 16th, 2010. When we meet with the company to sign the contract they promised they would take care of the set up details such as linens, favors, etc. The owner mentioned several times during this meeting how many large events and pro basketball players events she has done. My sister and I felt confident that they could handle her wedding of 100 guests.
The wedding day came and the Office Manger (our Event Coordinator) called my sister (the bride) 2 hours before the wedding to tell her that they did not have enough plates & linen. I was dumbfounded, how you can provide catering services for 100 people and only bring 100 plates, what if something breaks??
I spoke with the Event Coordinator at this time and told her to "just handle it". At this point, she said she had taken care of it, then why bother calling in the first place.
We had a buffet reception and they did make plates for the bride & groom. They started calling tables, and then stopped after 6 tables. We had 14 tables??? I (the Maid of Honor and an event planner by trade) started to tell people to go to the buffet. It took over an hour to serve 100 people with a buffet. We had a "mashed potato martini" station, they did not bring enough martini glasses, because "they assumed everyone would not eat the potatoes"
Other issues we encountered were some of the dinner plates were chipped. When we asked about the chipped plates I was told "well we have 14 other events going on today". I don't mean to be harsh, but I do not care about any other events that are going on, I care that my sister's wedding was what she paid for. They did not finish putting the favors on the table, the food was cold, and they never refilled the coffee carafes.
I finally asked to speak with the Event Coordinator to discuss the issues that I noticed. When I confronted the coordinator she was argumentative, rude and never once apologized for any of the complaints we had. When I mentioned to the coordinator that was going to write a review on this site, instead of asking what she can do to make the situation right, she told me "if that is what you feel you need to do". I finally asked for the phone number to the catering company, which she did not provide me, I had to get it from the bartender.
At the end of the event when we were packing up the gifts, she "found" the rest of the favors and acted like I should be happy... a little too late for that. When I asked again about the phone number for the company, she told me I would have to set up an appointment to meet with them and their lawyer??? That seems like a very strange thing to say.
I have been calling for a week since the wedding to speak with the owner, I have left message and she has still not gotten back to me.
I would suggest never using this company. They are rude, not responsive, and will promise things they do not deliver.
