Review: GREAT food & service!

  • I attended a tasting the other night and the food was delicious!! It is hard to say what my favorite would be. I loved the ceasar salad! The chef makes the ceasar dressing from scratch! OMG...sooo good! I also really loved the pesto tortellini.
  • It was really neat how they have the tasting set up. They tables were all dressed with crisp linens and china. There were several examples to help give me an idea of my options. The food came out looking almost too perfect to eat! Yummy!
  • I like that the owner and the staff at Portland Catering Company were willing with be flexible with the menu options. Just because it is not listed on the website does not mean they can't do it!

Review: Portland Catering Tasting for Summer Wedding

  • Favorite part of wedding day catering? So far we have attending the tasting at Portland Catering for our wedding this summer. The chef made sure to prepare a nice variety of the foods we had selected from the wedding menus for us to try. Both us of loved the food and had a great time meeting all the other couples that night- and trying some of their food! It was nice being able to talk to the chef after the event to ask about special requests and stuff. He was very receptive to our ideas cause I'm a little picky.
  • How was food presented at the wedding reception? Cocktail hour? After-party? Brunch? The tasting was platted, which was really fun, but I think we're going to do a buffet style reception. We did get to see the chaffing dishes they'll use at the event. It was nice to have all the tables set up to see what options we had for rentals and center pieces. A florist was there to answer our questions and she was super nice and helpful.
  • Most creative part of your wedding day catering? We loved some of the floral arrangements on the tables as well as the linens and decorations. We didn't really get to see the food set up cause it was just a tasting. Since we got to try a few different things, they weren't whole plates of food, or I would have been stuffed in the first few minutes. I can't wait to have the fruit and cheese display at our wedding. It looks really pretty in pictures!
  • Favorite wedding dessert? Cream puffs and the Chocolate Cannoli. My fiance is from back east and they eat those all the time there. He loved seeing them on the menu. I really want to do the chocolate dipped strawberries since they'll be delicious in July.

  • Favorite part of wedding day catering? Working directly with the owner, Eric. That way you always get an immediate answer to questions or detail.
  • How was food presented at the wedding reception? Cocktail hour? After-party? Brunch? Beautiful food presentation. It looks fresh, beautiful and smells delightful.
  • Most creative part of your wedding day catering? Presentation. The dishes, warmers, cloths, different heights and layout, made it easy to serve and reach but also look elegant and artistic.
  • Favorite wedding dessert? These little crispy wafer roll-up things filled with creamy chocolate and vanilla. Yummy!

Review: Portland Catering Company - Amazing Food

  • Favorite part of wedding day catering? Filed under: Catering — Bravo Publications @ 4:01 pm Portland Catering Company did a fabulous job on catering my son’s graduation party. My son is a vegan and yet, we wanted to offer other selections that would please the wide-range of guests that were coming for an open-house celebration. Eric did a great job serving poached salmon, with roasted vegetables and his favorite handmade mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. One of the crowd pleasers were the chicken skewers with his special peanut sauce with a kick of jalapeno. Everything was prepared fresh and the fruit was even cut right before the event which is the attention to detail that I appreciated. My personal favorite was goat cheese and wild mushroom quesadillas with madeira sauce. One challenge was selecting and presenting the food so that it could sit out during the duration of the open house. Eric prepared the dishes in two servings so that some could remain refrigerated. Rave reviews from all the guests for Portland Catering Company! -Mary Lou Burton

Review: Dont Waste Time or Money

  • Favorite part of wedding day catering? Looking back I thought our wedding was perfect, until my friends started telling me these horror stories about the cater. Portland CC messed up on the amount of food they prepared for the event and then the waiter proceeded to tell my guests that the bride didnt order enough food. I spent thousands and thousands on food, they made my wedding cheap and embarassed me in front of family and friends. Where did these waiters learn ?? PCC Bartender gave away FULL bottles of wine to my guests throughout the event and as parting gifts. Many of my guests reported to me that we had the best bartender ever because they were given full bottles of wine to take home. This cost us close to a thousand dollars of wasted wine. Portland Catering Company does not do plates or dishware. I had to do all this myself, including renting, organizing, delivering, everything. IT WAS THE BIGGEST HEADACHE. I called PCC after we got back from the honeymoon to review these concerns. I NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL BACK OR ANY RESPONSE AT ALL. NOTHING. They never offered an explanation or apologize. I understand that things happen, but this is unacceptable. I would never use them again or recommend them for anyone who wants to have memorable food at their wedding. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!!
