- First, this was for a New Years Party, not a wedding... but same size crowd and level of effort... No matter how much planning you do, something always happens when planning a big event. In this case, our cater fell through 2 days before our event. In the 11th hour we found Sullivan's Catering to fill in. It was a breath of fresh air to call them and get response in less than 2 hours vs 2-5 days like our other cater. Plus, the pricing and selection was great. So we jumped and were not disappointed. First, the owner Greg came out to the site the day before to check things out. While waiting for us he walked the grounds and found damage that a previous party had caused... which we reported and saved us from getting fined. Big win there for going above and beyond a cater role. Second, the catering team was on time and set up nicely for the event. They brought extra servers and we felt they rolled out the red carpet. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Plus, they did an awesome job cleaning up. Third, the food was great! And there was tons of it. We were concerned that there wouldn't be enough food (before with any cater) but we all went home with tons of leftovers. Our favorites were the crab cakes and the tenderloins. But ask the kids... and they will say the sliders and chicken tenders. I read an earlier review that was not so good on this company... but there's either mistaken identity or something going on there... (especially since it says that she think he went to Richmond and this Sullivan's is in Alexandria) Either way, we had a polar opposite, amazing experience with this vendor. We would hire them again! Great job Greg and team!

- Favorite part of wedding day catering? I hired Greg Sullivan or Sullivan's Catering to cater our wedding on May 22 2010 onsite at a winery in Spotsylvania VA. Greg was to provide tables, chairs, linens, place settings, flatware, barware, wait staff, bartenders, all the food for 80 people plus set up and break down/clean up. My wedding was to begin at 6:00pm on 5/22/10...Greg did not answer phone calls ALL DAY on the DAY OF MY WEDDING!! We could not find him or his staff!!! He finally returned my call at 2:45pm on 5/22/10 - THE DAY OF MY WEDDING and informed me that he would not be able to make it!!!! To this day he still owes me money from the refund he promised me and he is no longer returning my phone calls or emails. I took him to court in Spotsylvania and he didn't show up for that either! It seems he has left the Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia and Richmond markets and has taken his catering scam to Newport News, VA. STAY AWAY FROM SULLIVANS CATERING!!! DO NOT USE THIS CATERER! Save your money, same yourself from heartbreak! STAY AWAY FROM SULLIVANS CATERING!!!
