  • I am Barbara Deckert, the owner of this business, and I always sign my real name to everything I write. The review from "Dan R" is scurrilous and libelous. I have contacted this site but they do not seem to have a dispute process. I have never met this person and did no business with him. His allegations are rediculous. Please contact me at bdcouture@aol.com if you would like to see photos of the dress; I will post them on my website at www.barbaradeckertcouture and on my Facebook page after the wedding date of 6/9/2012. I won't go over every silly allegation in the review, but please be assured that I use detailed, legible contracts plus written business policies. LOTS of my customers are attorneys! I make the garment that my customer asks me to make, according to professional standards, and I document the entire process clearly and in great detail, with contracts and sketches. I always explain any "technical" terms to my customers, and I treat them with dignity and respect. I have never bullied anyone in my life. I am never rude, but I am straightforward and plain spoken, and I am not a chump. I often allow moms and bridesmaids to come to fittings, but this is a business and not a reality show, my space is small, and on no account am I willing to deal with over controlling men or to allow fiances to see wedding dresses for any reason. For the last 24 years, I have made hundreds of garments for customers and I have never had a bad review or a legal problem. I go to great lengths to be helpful and supportive, to find out exactly what customers want, and to provide a good service; see my website for thank-yous from appreciative customers. I love making beautiful dresses and helping women look and feel their best. I am a nationally recognized expert at what I do. I sign all my work, and I would never let any garment go out the door if it was not up to professional standards. Unfortunately, however, I cannot help customers with psychological problems. Feelings and dreams occur between the ears, and I am neither qualified nor licensed to deal with those issues, nor with a customers' relationships with their future husbands. Also unfortunately, my customers are not entitled to unlimited amounts of my time, and I state that clearly in my business policies. I think it is bullying on the part of "Dan R" to tell lies about my interactions with my customer, to post negative reviews all over the Internet under his persona and on some sites with the pronouns changed just enough in the review to make it sound as if it were written in first person by the bride, without any personal accountability on her or his part. I stand behind my work, my actions, and my integrity. Can this couple claim the same?
