Review: A Lifetime of Memories

  • The photo where my husband and I were sitting on a bench with trees all around us. The picture captured the beauty of that day in a serene way. To us the picture looked like if it was delicately painted on canvas. It was gorgeous.
  • The photographer was there for all the great moments and the funny thing was that most of the time we didn't know he was there. Ben had so many great ideas, even though to us they didn't make any sense, he knew exactly what he was doing because the pictures were amazing.
  • Included was 9 hours of photography, two photographers and a photographer assistant, 7 enlargements, a 60 page photo album, a proof book, and a dvd.
  • He was very respectful with our family and most importantly with our beliefs. He never made us do anything we didn't want to do and he always took into consideration our feelings and opinions when it came to the pictures and shots.

Review: Working with Ben and Molly

  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? Ben made our day so relaxed. We had fun working with him and his staff. After seeing our proofs, I wondered how he was able to get some of the shots that he did because he was so unintrusive, he just let the moment happen. He has an incredible talent to capture candid moments as they happen, and also the humor and sense of fun to provoke more entertaining shots. He and his team didn't make you feel like you had to be stiff for formal pictures, but actually made you have fun with them. All of our guests were impressed with their professionalism, as well as overjoyed with how all of the pictures turned out. They were a perfect match for us and I know that every wedding they do they give their all. They love what they do, and it shows. Thanks Ben, Molly and Team

  • What was your favorite wedding photo? Strange as it may sound, our favorite photo was a picture of both of our backs. It was shot as we were exiting the church doors after the ceremony. It was in sepia tone and although it was a still picture it somehow told a story. It was a great ending to the memorable occassion...we ended up using printing the photo as our Thank You cards. Everyone loved it.
  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? Our ceremony was in a catholic church so there were many restrictions but regardless, Ben was able to get wonderful shots. And on there own time, Molly and Ben even attended our ceremony rehearsal, so come the big day, he didn't miss a single important moment. There was a good variety of candids and action shots and they all came out incredible. I had an extremely large wedding party and I really wanted a group shot of the entire party and although it was a challenge, they accomplished it. Molly was great at getting all the necessary people in the pictures.
  • What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? Our package included an engagement session along with a dvd of all engagement pictures, and one 11x14 print of the picture of our choice. It also included 8 hours on wedding day with Ben and Molly, a proof book, a dvd of all wedding pictures, a few prints and a wedding album. We also had online access to all the engagement and wedding pictures.
  • How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Ben and Molly are very personable and down to earth. They really live up to all their promises. I would highly suggest to any couple on doing an engagement session. My husband and I were a little nervous and unsure of the whole thing, but Ben and Molly were really good at making us feel comfortable. During this time they really made an effort to get to know us as a couple and our visions for the big day. It turned out to be so much fun. Our reception lasted a little longer than expected, but Ben and Molly stayed over their time in order to capture our complete wedding story and that they did. They helped to capture the memories that we will cherish forever! Thanks Two Sparrows Photography!!!

  • What was your favorite wedding photo? Our favorite wedding photo was one of us laughing as we were trying to take our formal bride and groom pictures together. It was nice to see that moment captured. That was one our many favorites!!
  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? To be quite honest I think we both forgot that Ben and Dave were there! We were so busy on our wedding day and when we were able to see our photos online we were both amazed.....so many pictures were taken and we didn't even realize it.
  • What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? Our package included our engagement session, a DVD of both the wedding and engagement, a formal album and the two photographers.....Ben & Dave who are just amazing to work with!!
  • How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Ben, Molly & Dave made sure we knew they were there for us from day one. They were very attentive and made sure we knew we could count on them for our important day. We would recommend them to everyone we know....Two Sparrows is AMAZING to work with!!!

  • What was your favorite wedding photo? This is a funny question because when I first looked at the gallery online, there is an option to pick favorites, and I chose mine. The number totaled 190! I am still narrowing them down! I think my favorites are of these fun moments between the two of us where we weren't self-conscious.
  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? Because we were on the East Coast and on a tight budget, we could only afford Ben, without an assistant and without Molly (who did some work long distance in pre-planning, etc.) We were just amazed at how many places he seemed to be in at once. We got married outside and had cocktails in one location, dinner in another, and dancing in another. Yet he was there every single time. I literally did not even see him out of the corner of my eye during the ceremony, so I was surprised at how many photos there were and kept thinking, where was he??? His portraits are really diverse, fun, creative, and an incredible mix of traditional and off beat, which is what we asked for. He captured some nice emotional moments. When I look at the photos, I am literally transported right back to that day, which for me was magical and perfect. Looking at the photos is a viceral experience for me, and I could not ask for anything more.
  • What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? As I said above, we were on a super small budget. Since we were in New York, we covered his airfare, rental car, lodging, and food. Our package included a bound proof book, a DVD, an online gallery, and one bound album, with the option to buy more (which we did, of course!).
  • How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? This is the crucial question. My partner and I are queer and had a very, very eclectic group of loved ones at our wedding which ran the gamut from mildly conservative relatives and brilliant academic types to tattooed and pierced punk rockers, butch/femme lesbian couples, activists, performance artists, genderqueer and transgender folks, and a whole bunch of kids and babies! Seriously, we are not your run of the mill couple - to say the least. It's very, very difficult to find "wedding vendors" who are 100% on board with a queer, non-traditional wedding. I don't mean tolerant or okay, I mean 100% embracing you as if you are two of the coolest people he's ever met and your love is a shining example for all to see and all he wants to do is capture it. That is how he made us feel. And that is totally priceless, invaluable. It's funny, though, because when we looked through his portfolio, he had amazing shots from big Catholic church weddings, so it's not like we thought of him as the wedding photographer for the alternative crowd at all. However, for anyone who considers themselves an offbeat bride/groom and for anyone reading this who is GLBT, I cannot think of anyone better for the job.

Review: Two Sparrows Photography is AWESOME!

  • What was your favorite wedding photo? My favorite wedding photo is a sepia toned picture of just my wife and I looking at each other on the spot where we got married. It is at night and there are lights all around us. It is great because it was a nice quite moment for us even though the reception was in full swing inside.
  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? You would think they weren't even there but we have all the spectacular shots to prove it. I am horrible with posed photos they always look so fake, but all of the shots looks great. We have candids as well as portraits and it has taken us forever to narrow it down for our album.
  • What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? We got an engagement photo session with one 11x14 enlargement, online viewing, and the images on DVD. Then for the wedding we got both Ben and Molly, both are fantastic by the way. Ben is the primary photographer that took care of all our portraits. And Molly took care of everything else got people where they needed to be etc. so my wife and I did not have to worry about a thing. And a fantastic second photographer that took care of all our candids. And they were all there for at least 7 hours. We also got online viewing, hard-bound proof book of all our photos, a hard-bound album, a DVD with all our images and 5 8x10 enlargements. And for all of that we paid far less then even the cheapest, simplest packages with other photographers.
  • How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Ben and Molly are professional above all else, and to top it all off Ben is exceptionally creative. My wife did not want the same old boring shots that you see in every album and Ben had no problem embracing that and created some spectacular shots that our entire family was awed by. There is a huge discrepancy in my wife's and my height. I am 6'2" and she is 5' but still we were positioned so that it did not look awkward which helped us relax and thus take better pictures. And the best part is we got great pictures and we flew through them, our guests did not complain once that it took too long to get through all the pictures. Fast and creative is a rare combination but Ben is fantastic and I would recommend him and Two Sparrows Photography 100 times over. Not one of our guests had a bad thing to say about him or his team, and that takes all the pressure off of us.

  • What was your favorite wedding photo? Picking just one photo is impossible, but there is one photo of me and my husband, looking into each others eyes which is absolutely incredible!
  • How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? It's funny, once we saw our proof book we wondered how Ben and Dave had captured some of the photos. We literally didn't see them working during the ceremony. The photos we received are a wonderful mix of candid shots and pictures were people are looking at the camera. The portraits they took were really neat. They gave us a great place to do formals, and then let everyone play! How wonderful!
  • What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? We received two photographers, plus they had an assistant, and Molly, who was like their photo coordinator. We were really, really taken care of. We also got a proof book (really cool), a 40 page wedding album, all the pictures on-line in our own gallery, a DVD of everything, and five enlargements. Oh yea, and all the photos in the wedding album were retouched!
  • How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? My husband and I, and our guests, can't say enough about how wonderful it was working with the entire Two Sparrows team! Everyone was so nice and so helpful, and very professional. We highly recommend them to everyone!
