- It is very difficult to choose a favorite; I have so many favorites! There's the profile picture of my husband in which Dacia captured his dimple and jaw line in a way makes me feel flustered every time I look at it. There are the black and white photos of me getting ready that remind me of treasures someone might find of their grandmother in her nightstand. There are the moments caught during the ceremony when the way my husband and I are looking at each other truly show why we were getting married. More than any one photo, Dacia's photography comes together as a whole to tell the story of the day, in all of its perfect imperfection. When Dacia takes a picture, in that instant, she creates an heirloom.
- During the ceremony, Dacia moved noiselessly around the room. I had no idea she was there! She was friendly, encouraging, complementing, and very gracious with my friends and family. At the same time, she was able to remain removed enough to effectively direct my slightly scattered relatives and wedding party in a way that seemed confident and effortless. She took beautiful photos of the wedding details I spent so much time on, and made my wedding look as magical as any featured in any blog. The candid shots caught some wonderful moments of my husband and me that are just 'us'. You know those photos where you say, "See? You're making that face that I like!"? And the portraits... can you say MILLION DOLLAR PORTRAITS!!!! In addition to your standard fare, Dacia also took some nudes of me as I put on my dress that now adorn my husbands bathroom. The experience made me feel beautiful and was a most pleasant surprise for my husband as well!
- My package included 'getting ready' pictures of me, portraits before the ceremony, complete and wonderful coverage of the ceremony and the reception. Dacia uses real film (remember that stuff?), and it certainly makes her photography a cut of above the rest. When I've shown my wedding pictures to friends etc a couple of them have asked if the photos were photo-shopped to look old-fashioned. Nope! It's the real deal and perfectly suited to my vintage aesthetic. She edited all the images and gave them to us on two DVDs. The first had all the images in smallish files so we could easily upload them to facebook (who doesn't want everyone they know to see and comment on their best day ever?) and the second had the large files perfect for ordering our prints, which we did NOT have to do through Dacia, which I found to be very convenient.
- Dacia made me feel relaxed and beautiful! My guests all had only lovely things to say about her. Her confidence in her own photography allowed me to relax and trust that she was going to do a great job. Having that complete trust in her allowed me to have a great day with one less thing to worry about. She gave simple direction and lots of praise, which I really liked! I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. I have never seen better wedding photography and cannot imagine having had anyone else shoot my wedding. It was such an amazing day, it is so wonderful to have pictures that show it to be just as magical as it felt. Thank you, Dacia!!!
