- I had a ton of favorites, mainly because almost all of the pictures weren't overly posed and many of them were completely candid. None of them had the stereotypical poses and fake grins that some photographers force on their subjects. When people are comfortable and happy, they LOOK comfortable and happy and the pictures come out looking excellent. She did catch my wife and I making faces at each other at one point, so if I had to pick one... that'd be it.
- Melissa was awesome at taking pictures without being in the way. I never really noticed her when the important things were going on like the ceremony, but when she needed shots with family and the like, she was really good at making them quick and easy. Since she is good at keeping a low profile, she gets a lot of pictures that are of relaxed people enjoying themselves. I tend to like those a lot more than crowding people together for a forced portrait.
- Melissa's approach to photo packages was something that kinda sold us. She doesn't have traditional packages with so many 8x10's and so many wallets like school photos do. Would you really want a ton of wallet photos? I only have one wallet, so... Her packages are really just whatever you want. You pick the photos you want printed and the sizes and that's your package. She does engagement sessions, post-wedding sessions, and even baby sessions, though that might be a ways off for us...
- One huge relief for us was that she actually visited the site before the ceremony and knew what it looked like. It wasn't anything she had to do, but it really said a lot about her professionalism. She actually wanted to have good pictures. Melissa is a pro. She has an eye for excellent shots, a sense of style that is really unique, and she was even nice to my groomsmen who all fell madly in love ;)

- What was your favorite wedding photo? Soul Mates Photography was hands down the best part of my wedding. Melissa Tomeoni is an unbelievably creative photographer who met every one of my needs, and I just cant get enough of her work. My favorite wedding photo is one of my husband and me standing in front of a wooden fence, my hands on my hips, its perfect. If you were there for the photo you would know that behind us was a cow pasture full of stinky mud - but the photo is fantastic! My second favorite photos are of the bridal party. The groomsmen and bridesmaids were photographed separately jumping wildly into the air in a large open field. The photos are great - and words really don't do them justice. - How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? My biggest fear was having the typical posed wedding shots. After I had Melissa shoot my engagement photos I knew this wouldnt be the case. Her use of color, lighting, angle - it makes every photo unique and worthy of a full size print framed and hung on the wall. I couldnt be happier with the way my wedding photos turned out. Dare I say the photos are better than the actual wedding? I love that every moment - every emotion of my wedding was captured. The most amazing part was how little I even noticed Melissa taking photographs. Thinking back to the ceremony - I don't recall seeing Melissa at all... But I know she was there - I have the photos to prove it!
- What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? For both my wedding and engagment session I have a DVD of all of the photographs. Albums and photo packages of all types are available as well. Another reason why I really love Soul Mates Photography is the website and blog. Theres a great selection of Melissa's past work to look through. Once she has completed a session with you she posts the photos up online. About a week after the session theres a "preview" posted on her blog, and about a week later the whole thing is posted at a location you can access with a password. Its quick and easy to order the images online, and they are shipped to you so fast!
- How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Beyond Melissa's great talents, she is very professional and willing to go out of her way to make her clients happy. She worked great with my family during the chaotic day. Melissa gave direction for group photos, but most of the time she just sat back and captured the days events. I cant say enough good things about Soul Mates Photography and how pleased I was with Melissas work.
