Weddings by EmmaSuz is an unlicensed and unprofessional entity from which people should steer clear.
She did not make my daughter's day special. She was not organized...did not even have a check-off list. Although she offered to do so much more, and complained that I was not giving her anything (or enough) to do, she failed to adequately perform the duties expected of her: to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, had what they were supposed to have, and did what they were supposed to do. She didn't even make sure the flower girls had their baskets with petals prior to walking down the aisle in front of my daughter. My son rolled out the white runner, but no red petals were thrown on it, because she never got the baskets out of my car! The flower girls were sent down the aisle holding hands.
Even though I was immediately whisked off to be with my daughter upon my arrival at the church, I noticed when we were lining up that the flower girls did not have baskets. I was told that they were waiting for them in the vestibule. They were not! The parents and grandparents of the flower girls were so upset by this "mistake," that I told the coordinator (Emmanuella Suzette Longmire) to make sure the flower girls got an opportunity to spread their petals at the reception. My daughter, the bride, had to remind her of that at the reception, or they would not have had an opportunity to do it there either.
Her performance at the reception left a lot to be desired as well. Although she was with me when I purchased bottles of water to decorate as favors and provide to the guests (they were supposed to have been put on the tables by her staff), she told my guests there was no water and gave some of them tap water in plastic cups. The "staff of six" which she kept telling me she had to make sure everyone was served and had a good time at the reception turned out to be children. One young man walked on the bottoms of his pants legs all day; they ate and drank before our guests; they drank sparkling cider in front of the guests instead of passing it out to them in the flutes provided, so the toasts were made without sparkling cider or champagne flutes; they packed up and carted off food from the reception without permission; they broke a serving item provided by the family; the coordinator took the other one with her (a glass decanter used to serve tea) with the promise of returning it to me the next day clean, and she never returned it (later claiming that it was the broken one, because it had no lid when she took it; I saw the boy who walked on the bottoms of his pants legs playing with it before she left and her daughter was telling him to stop); because I didn't praise her performance at this fiasco, she became defensive and even belligerent, yelling into the telephone and hanging up abruptly; this list seems to go on and on.
There were signs that she was not professional probably a couple of weeks before the wedding, but I had already paid her by then. She sent me an email calling one of my vendors a "BUTTHOLE" (yes, in capital letters and in writing), because he would not agree to something we wanted him to do.
After ranting and raving about the "mistakes" not being her fault, she began trying to "dictate" to me what she would do to resolve this, which wasn't much, just replace the two decanters. She has done nothing to rectify this situation.
During our communications, she commented that she had gotten several compliments from the guests. I quickly informed her that that was probably true, but it was a result of my hard work and not hers. She found it difficult to argue with that point, so she did not respond.
Although I have filed the appropriate complaints (BBB, Shelby County Clerk/Business Licensing, and State of Tennessee Business Licensing), I would hate to see another family go through this same type of ordeal.
See above narrative.
None in this case.
I had to put something in the star rankings in order to save these comments, but this wedding coordinator deserves 0 stars across the board.
