The Loft reception center has the potential to be a wonderful venue for an event, however with the horrible management and the constant dispute between divorcing owners it is the biggest wreck imaginable!
My sister just had her wedding at the Loft reception center at the beginning of September 2013. From my point of view the owner and her ex-husband that currently owns “My Half” the restaurant that shares the property line shouldn’t be allowed to 1.Own businesses or 2. Live in the same state as the other!
This review is 100% accurate for how everything I was part of went. My sister (the bride) and I showed up at about 8:00 am to get ready. We had cleared it with the owner that we would get ready there and then do morning bridal photos out in the yard. We spent about 45 min getting ready before we saw anyone. (The owner lives in an apartment under the reception center) That isn’t saying we didn’t hear anyone, from the time we arrived until the ceremony started we got to listen to her two large breed dogs bark at every person that showed up. When we did see the owner it was simply by chance we caught her in the yard trying to draw her ex-husbands attention to aggravate him. At this time we finally got her to shut the sprinklers off in the yard, it was only about an hour before we were planning on doing pictures. Thank you for all the mud! We went back in the building and our family started showing up to bring the food in. When I walked in the kitchen I was appalled! It is filthy and more of a glorified storage center than a kitchen. Even the walk in fridge was dirty! All the counters were over stacked with decorations for every time of year and there was zero room to do anything. Once we finally got things sorted out in the kitchen so we could serve our meal, we couldn’t find the owner to get another table set up to put the food on! We ended up crowding everything onto one table and then searching around in the storage room/kitchen to find a small table to put cupcakes on. My parents and some of our close friends spent more time doing things that the owner should have been there to take care of than they got to spend with the bride and groom.
When we went out at 11:00 a.m. to do bridal pictures the yard was still all wet and her old tomcat had caught a bird and dismembered it in the middle of the ceremony area where we were going to do pictures. We looked around for the owner, nowhere to be seen. So I ended up picking it up and tossing it as far away as possible…in several pieces. Not only were there dead animals on the yard there were rotten apples from the trees in the yard. It wouldn’t have taken her but 20 min to go out in the yard and pick those up before we got there however she didn’t. Because her lack of professionalism when we were taking out last few pictures we saw that on the train of my sisters beautiful dress there was bird blood, rotten apple and mud! Hours before the wedding, just because this person doesn’t put any effort into her business my sisters dress was already a mess.
Whenever the owner was seen from this point forward she was making out with her boyfriend out in the yard, flaunting her actions to her ex-husband. At most even centers the owner will help keep timing with the couples schedule and help to get the bridal party sent down the isle at the right time. Not here, she was way too busy antagonizing her ex. We got set up on our own and down the isle. Now her lack of being seen or heard was not near as big of problem as her ex-husbands abundance of being heard! As soon as he saw us all begin down the isle, he got his chainsaw started and began cutting up trees on his property. My husband ran over and asked him politely to wait for 10 min so we could get through the ceremony. His response was “no, tell your hostess to go to hell!” after reiterating this statement a few times my husband got him to stop, however it was still too late and even my parents who were in the first row couldn’t her the bride and groom exchange vows.
As soon as the ceremony was over the ex started right back up chopping things up even with the bridal party out doing pictures. No owner around then, she couldn’t be bothered to deal with the repercussions of her actions.
At the reception the bride and groom couldn’t even do one champagne toast because she wanted $700 deposit if any alcohol was brought into her reception center. All in all this place is a nice building and could be a nice place if it had different owners however the way it is now it feels like the owner is just using it and the people who rent it to piss off her ex-husband and he doesn’t care about ruining someone’s event as long as it makes her look bad.

What was your wedding theme? Décor? Setting? Antique, vintage.
Flexibility of venue to meet your needs? I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Loft Reception Center in Rigby just this last month, and it was A JOKE!
Short Version: Jennifer Tucker (the owner) is not professional, courteous, or easy to get a hold of. Her decorations are cheap and outdated, and the building itself is falling apart. These are thing's I wish I would have known before hand, but Jennifer agreed to only meet ONCE before my wedding day, and took that chance only to belittle my every concern. However the loft reception center is the cheapest place to rent in the area, so there you go.
Long Version: A week before our wedding day, Jennifer didn't answer any of my phone calls, finally I had to call from my fiance's phone, and only then did she pick up. 15 minutes before the ceremony there was a malfunction with their "waterfall" prop. A problem, according to one of her helpers, that should have been fixed a while ago. So while my guests were walking in and taking their seats, they had the pleasure of listening to the harmonious sound of a drill. The door handle on the men's restroom door was broken, and one of our guests got locked in! When the problem was brought to Jennifer, but the problem was dismissed. Thankfully, my father fixed it. My fiance and I had prepared a slideshow of pictures of us growing up to present during the reception, but unfortunately, the bulb in the projector was broken! But instead of having a replacement bulb on hand, or running 5 minutes to the store to get one, Jennifer and her crew "fixed" the problem by putting out a cheesey, and pathetic little television screen that sat on top of the fire place! The kitchen was disgusting, and I heard from many of my family members that Jennifer was rude, and extremely difficult to work with.
So thank you Jennifer and Staff for putting the littlest possible effort into our special day, and for setting an incredibly low standard of comfort and accommodation for us and our guests!
Have both your reception and ceremony there? If so, make for a happy couple & guests? Yes, and no, it was HORRIBLE!
Favorite part of the venue? The only great part of that entire thing, was our family and the person I married!
