- What was your wedding theme? Décor? Setting? We let the space speak for itself. The gazebo was perfect for photos before the ceremony, and then the ceremony was in front of the gazebo and lake, with a semi-circle of tiered seating for all of our guests. It was beautiful August weather, and was perfect for what we wanted. Apart from my simple bouquet and a candle we lit at the beginning, there was no other decor. For our lunch reception, we had simple table linens out without centrepieces in the porch of the stone house. The lake was clearly visible throughout, as was the wooded part of the park. We served the food indoors, and then people ate in the porch. Photos were taken outside facing either the stone house or the lake, as well as at the gazebo.
- Flexibility of venue to meet your needs? This is a venue suited for people who are quite flexible themselves. there is no alcohol served at the space, there are only a few toilets (I'm sure you could dress them up on the day, but they are still open to families using the park) and there's no kitchen--make sure you have a caterer who comes prepared. We didn't need much--we had a clear idea of what we wanted, and it suited it perfectly. Because it's in a park, we were able to set up as early and stay as late as we wanted. We had a break between the lunch reception and an evening BBQ at my parents' house, so my husband and I took a quiet walk together around the park to have a few moments alone as husband and wife.
- Have both your reception and ceremony there? If so, make for a happy couple & guests? Yes, I think it's easy to have your ceremony, photos, and reception all on site. There is plenty of parking, it's a gorgeous location, and the place for small ceremonies is perfect. Plus it's $75!!
- Favorite part of the venue? The view. Our photos are stunning! Did I mention the price?!?
